Keeping Hope Alive

2020 had been a trying year
jolting us into reality
Gripping humanity in a vice of fear
Testing our mentality
Deep fissures exposed
Questioning unbridled insanity
Make haste, those that opposed
Voices of intellect n sanity
Will need those voices of reason
To aid the cause of humanity
To subvert the acts of treason
And overcome all adversity
New vistas, keeping hope alive
In 2021, leaving behind incredulity
Yet we may still survive
On the strength of our versatility
