"I don't want to survive.
I want to live."
This was said by Captain B. McCrea
in Pixar's 2008 film Wall-E.
The people live a blissfully ignorant, utopian life.
Look closely and you will not see a utopia,
but a ship full of people who've forgotten
how to live.
They have no concept of family, love,
a true friendly connection, or Earth.
These couch potatos--
Literal couch
po-ta-tos! Are not living.
They are just surviving.
So.
What do I plan to do
with my one wild and precious life?
I plan to live.
I plan to dance under the stars
like Wall-E and Eve.
I plan to go to infinity and beyond
with my best friends.
And just keep swimming with my family.
And use my hearts fire whenever I speak.
I plan to discover, create, feel, sense
life for a long
as the universe will let me.

I think you have what it takes - the ability to see some of what exists and the fire to wish to do something about it. Please take that fire seriously, tend it for real, and not just in the poem.
Regards Dave
Well that's no idle ability, unless you are blessed and just wandering virtual fields! A nice poem to riff off M. E. M. Haha it makes me think back not forward but that's a matter of years not words. A good read thanks.

ok I'll admit Wall-E is a film I have a soft spot for and I thank you for introducing me to these last two provocative lines from Mary Oliver's 'The Summer Day':
'Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?'
