Tune: St Fulbert
('Ye choirs of new Jerusalem')
1 Corinthians 1 v.26-29
************
For consider your calling how
That not many wise now
Nor many mighty, nor noble
In human terms are called
They not by God chosen, but few
It be His plan to do
To choose things that the world does not
'Tis in His wisdom's lot
He chooses the foolish, so He
Does shame the [worldly] wise, so be
And weak things to shame the [worldly] mighty
Cause them to humble be
He chooses lowly and despised
Though the world is surprised
And things that are of worth little
That great things then should stall
It all be that no humankind
Should in His presence find
Reason to boast, be proud, glory
His all the glory be

In all religions we see the intelligentsia depart from religious dogma in favour of logic. Leaving such to the illogical but brainwashed or frightened.
There is the phrase 'The fear of the Lord'. It does not mean terror, but awe, respect, reverence.
But I fear, am afraid, of what some people have made religion to be.
Always enjoy reading them Orchi.
Thanks Jerry.
Orchie, if He chooses the 'foolish' I already got a foot in the door!
Thanks Fred. Doh! If you say so. It means those who seem as fools to the worldly-wise. They call us fools for believing.
Good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
That's a great poetic sense of faith orchidee, nicely done.
