Rousing

Fay Slimm.

Rousing.

Slowly the morning climbs toward daytime.

Robin starts singing Hello thru' my window.

Breakfasting sparrows chatter while dining.

Blackbird joins chorus with fine Tenor Solo.

Waking is blessed by feathered rendition.

Rousing to bird-song cannot be bettered.

There's a lot to be said about morning arousal when a bird is singing Fay. However I digress into fantasy land.

I love my minds silly picture of sparrows tucking into weetabix breakfasts whilst blackbird dines on rice and peas and robin calls through your window:-
wake up wake up sleepyhead Fay
it's time to start your new day
    through your window thats ouvre
i say throw back your duvet
get up and get on your way.

    • Fay Slimm.

Your alternative feed for our feathered friends sounds a bit more than ordinary dear D.A. and the wake-up for yours truly is greatly appreciated as I fly out of my duvet .......... bless you for all your support for my word-efforts -- your comments are poems in themselves.

      Good write Fay.
Yes, it's daft, some adverts on TV. It's always a bright morning; it never rains; all smile (sickly) sweetly; it's never a dark morning. Completely naff! lol. Nice dreams though.

      • Fay Slimm.

Yes we can dream of rousing to birdsong at any time of the year and thanks for highlighting those misguiding advert my friend.

That is beautiful Fay. You have brought me great joy this morning.
The only thing missing is a cricket with a hat and a cane.

You must write that little character into one of your own then dear Jerry - delighted to know though the read brought you joy.

                  Hi Fay
I haven't been on for a couple of years and I like the direction your poetry has taken. The birds are one thing that is keeping me going. Days are getting longer too!
                  Phil

                  • Fay Slimm.

How kind of your Phil to feel I have grown into better word-direction after two years - agree wholly that birdsong can teach us much - and sincere thanks for your encouraging comment.
