Until We Meet Again

DarkSoul98

I’m alone laying here in my bed

Darkness surrounding me

The silence is deafening

The memories of you

Flashes through my mind

I want to smile but I can’t

It hurts to remember

It hurts to forget

One minute you were here

The next you were gone

And I haven’t been the same since

You weren’t happy were you

And I should have noticed

Why didn’t I notice

You made up your mind

You followed through

I wish you didn’t

I wish you were still here

I should have been there

But I lost you and now I know

What being unhappy truly feels like

I miss you but I’ll see you again someday

I love you always until we meet again

Such feelings of loss begin to teach us to be more sensitive to the needs and wellbeing of those within our circle.

That loss is so emotive but you will meet again and all will be well - see my poem today about a similar subject.

I get that - You have very well encapsulated the feelings of loss and regrets at missed moments.
For myself I cannot believe the idea expressed in your last two lines, which makes it all the more important to value those we know and love while we can.
