Mango

preeti

Mangoes for bosoms

Wrapped in its own skin

The flesh-like pulp

Will be my womb

tight until I un-ripen

for the right person.

My flesh so tasty

they'd suckle like my nipples

for breastfeeding.

Inspired by Aunt May's sari described as a Mango in Brixton Beach by Roma Tearne

There you go - that kind of intelligence (Brixton Beach by Roma Tearne) is one of the things which can make MPS so worthwhile. I'm going to put it on order,as Roma Tearne has a rich biography and must surely have something to say.
BTW your poem made me a little warm and sweaty, I have to add...!

In Hawaii we eat local mangoes all the time. But now, after reading your beautiful poem, I will never be able to eat these fruits the same way! 🙂

Well as Fred has said I will now have to look at mangoes in a different way.

how wonderfully you've chosen to highlight, what brief bright sparks - exist, in this depressingly dim tale (Brixton Beach),
a good use of poetry's juxtaposing tools, to lend a different perspective for established literature,
    a bold and creative write
