I have heard it so many times,
That song.
A good song
But why did I react
Like I did that day,
That day I heard it
As I drove in my car?
I’ve seen the film,
Seen it many times,
Can remember some of the words:
“No Mr Bond, I expect you to die!”
But why did the song move me
As Shirley Bassey sang it?
What was different today?
I may never know
But Goldfinger affected me,
Affected me that day,
Showing the power that music
Can have on my life.

- Comment from author about the poem: I have no idea why this song moved me on that day, it is an OK song that I have heard so many times but I wouldn't say it was particularly special to me.

Good write Gold. It's powerfully sung by Shirl!
Thank you Orchi. It certainly is.
Andy
Well, I did a duet with her once, ya know. She drowned out my singing, so it wasn't all bad!
Music of the universe is etched in our code.Great write!
So true John, thank you.

There is this notion that the whole of creation is notes on the harps of angles.
I would agree with that notion Jerry.

There is a bit more to it. Satin doesn’t hate God
he loves God so much he refuses to play the notes
that create Man.
Andy, you are so right. It is amazing what impact music can have on our life, sometimes reaching the depth of our souls.
It certainly does mine, I have been listening to music all my life.
Andy
Who knows why a song suddenly affects you more one time, but you observed it and put that thought in a poem which will get us all thinking of songs that affect us.
Phil
Thank you Phil, I am often moved by music, always have been but this one really surprised me and shows how powerful music is in my life.
Andy
kinda crazy Andy, I think music via its combination of 'notes' and 'words' directly accesses aspects of our subconscious we can't pinpoint, same goes for those absurd chorus' and 'sampled' rhythms or beats, that get stuck in our head(s) for days, even though we can't recollect what song they belong to
Probably very true Mek, some tunes just stay with you.
