Revelation - Trumpet Six

orchidee

Tune: Lostwithiel

('Head of thy church triumphant')

Revelation 9 v.13-21

**********

Sixth trumpet sounded, angel

Heard voice from altar, did tell

Angel to go, release the four

Angels at [River] Euphrates shore

They were loosed, they were prepared

For an exact hour shared

Was for to slay third of mankind

The second woe here we find

And an army of horsemen

Two hundred million then

In vision they sat on horses

Had breastplates of fire, was thus

Jacinth (red), blue too, and brimstone

Yellow, and horsed head prone

As lions, and from their mouths flowed

Fire, smoke, and brimstone bestowed

By these three was the third part

Of mankind killed, when did start

The fire, the smoke, and the brimstone

Which came from their mouths, so known

This judgement, for their power

Is in mouths in their hour

And in their tails, like serpents girt

Had heads, and with them they hurt

And rest of men who not killed

By these plagues, yet did not yield

To God, did not repent, their days

Still filled up with their own ways

Worship devils, idols, would

Of gold, silver, brass, stone, wood

Which neither see, nor walk, nor hear

Blind, immobile, deaf appear

Nor did they repent, nor turn

From their evil deeds, but burn

To continue with their murders

And hearts to evil deeds stirs

Nor repent of sorceries

Nor their fornications, these

They carried on, and their thefts too

Even though judgements in view

Orchie, does this have anything to do with our present predicament?

        • orchidee

Thanks Fred. Possibly, if it's a 'plague'. A church leader blamed, erm, church leaders for it partly - not leading well. That includes him then. Doh!
