The Everlasting Rose

Harlequin Hearts 🖤

The everlasting rose

With petals crimson red

They never wilt, they never fall

Unlike how I fell for you

A long stem made from steel

It doesn't crumble, snap or break

Unlike how I crumbled when you left

My heart shattered at your feet

Razor sharp thorns

That tore through my soul

Allowing the darkness to deep through

The everlasting rose

Stays shiny and new

Contrasting how damaged I became

I wanted your everlasting love

Now all I have is this everlasting rose.

    Welcome to MPS, itmoabg!
Well written, I like the metaphor of the steel rose.

    Beautiful emotive write itmoabg.

    Welcome to MPS.

Quite a beautiful rendition of how it feels to be a beautiful worthy soul cast aside in love.
With a nom-de-plume like yours, beware of a "ready to pounce" lurking romeo who resides in MPS with already a history of conquests to his name.
Yes, there are even poetic wolves.
