Tune: We Three Kings
('We three Kings of Orient are')
Matthew 2 v.1-12 parts
**********
Three called Kings, they wise men were then
Made their journey, travelling when
Christ-child's star in the east they saw
Come to worship, adore
Chorus
O here be the Epiphany
Christ revealed unto all, see
To the Jews and to the Gentiles
Here stay, contemplate a while
Bethlehem, though you little town
Now be of an endless renown
Chosen by God, in you be born
His Son, redemption morn - Chorus
Precious gifts to Christ they did give
Saviour, in whom all may now live
Gold, frankincense, myrrh presented
By star they to Him led - Chorus
Guide us Lord, that we too humbly
Present gifts and selves to you, see
Serving you in freedom, gladness
Desiring you us bless - Chorus
Bright your light, you Light of the world
At your Epiphany unfurled
Sharing with others your gospel
Light o'ercomes darkness all - Chorus

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem at the end of this Epiphany season. Verses: 8.8.8.6. Chorus: 8.7.8.7. The picture is 'Adoration of the Magi' by Gentile Fabriano (1423). Everything and everyone in it looks joyful, even the animals - cattle and horses smiling. The picture is in the last stanza of the video.

Light is there for us all.

Thanks Gold.
I believe the only present (gift) the Lord wants is for us to mend our ways, and maybe with a hyme in our step, like your poetry.
Thanks Suresh.
And you, dear orchie, are lighting up this site!
Thanks Fred.
Reminds me very of Christmas as a child ... I guess its the references to three wise men or kings and gold frankincense & myrrh etc etc ....
Thanks Neville. It's a bit late to wish 'Merry Christmas' at the end of this clip!
