Tune: Deus Tuorum Militum
('Awake, awake, fling off the night')
Philippians 1 v.9-11
********
Paul longs after Philippians
Greatly, with Jesus' affections
And prays that their love may abound
More and more, in Christ's fullness found
Love abounding in knowledge more
And in all judgement rue and sure
In wise discernment, what to do
And to know God's will here anew
That the ymayapprove things that are
Excellent, unspoilt, tht not mar
And that they may too be sincere
And without offence, living clear
Living in God's clear light, ready
For Christ's return, when that shall be
Being filled with the fruits good, pure
Of righteousness, they by Christ sure
That this be to the glory, praise
Of God, to Him worship upraise
Progressing on, faith, hope, and love
Each day nearer our home above
