Hymn & Tune: 'Under the burdens of guilt and care'
From poem by Kevin Michael Bloor -
adapted with permission
*********
Just now the sweet snow drops are blooming
Reminds that Springtime is looming
They brave the breeze biting and snowing
In bleak mid-winter start growing
Chorus
Galanthus Nivalis
To love them, you don't need know this
'Milk Flower of the Snow'
By Romans brought here, we this know
All clouded in folklore and fable
With Cain's mother, he killed Abel
These shy sturdy blooms bright with beauty
Destined by God for this duty - Chorus
That when Eve shed tears in the garden
Pleaded with God for His pardon
An angel was moved to take pity
From snowflake made flower pretty - Chorus
As symbol of hope's new beginning
In God's Holy Son, no sinning
This maid of February frozen
Lady of loveliness chosen - Chorus
Just now the sweet snowdrops are blooming
Reminds that Springtime is looming
Cruel Winter, they tell us, is ending
Sweet solace of Spring is pending - Chorus

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem: Verses: 9.8.9.8. Chorus: 6.8.6.8. Not all my own work. I have slightly adjusted Kevin's poem. The tune came to me as I read it.
