Talking On The Screen.

Goldfinch60

She sits there on the screen

Looking at me,

I sit there on the screen

Looking at her.

And we talk,

We talk of so many things.

Some are so sad

Where we talk of my lover

Now left this world,

But still with us both,

In memories of wonderful times,

Those wonderful times of the past

When the three of us

Were together.

But we laugh as well,

The humour in our lives

Always to the fore.

There are many miles between us

But that distance means nothing

As we sit by each other

Talking on the screen,

For hours at a time.

Thank you Julie, we have known each other for nearly 40 years, she and my late wife and used to sing in choirs and we all became great friends and that friendship as never waned.

Chatting with someone special is always a way to lighten our hearts Andy - - thank you for sharing your experience of that with us and also for sharing the music that always lifts my heart.

Great writing, Andy! I am so thankful for that 'screen'. Without it I wouldn't have seen my grandkids for over a year. We don't talk for hours, they some of them have an attention span of about three minutes. But they always want to hear a 'story' which I have to make up as I go along. Thanks for this poem.

Thank you Fred, yes that 'screen' does keep people together in these sad times, one day we will be able to talk in person which will be so wonderful.
