O LORD, to you, I be as turtle dove

Come to me, save my life now, in your love

Deliver me not  to the multitude

Of the wicked, for they have not you viewed

Forget not the poor, but have respect to

Your covenant, and come help us anew

 

For the dark places  of the earth, they be

Full of cruelty and of violence, see

O let not the oppressed return ashamed

Let poor and needy praise, you they have named

Arise, O God, and your own cause do plead

Look upon us, and see our desperate need

 

Remember, LORD, how the foolish reproach

Your name daily, revilings, taunts they broach

Forget not voice of your enemies, they

Rise up against you, continual each day

Hear us and act, e'en for your own name's sake

Guard us, guide us, under your wings us take
