Unconfined

Fay Slimm.

Unconfined.

Unleashed from restraint the falcon lances
through cloud to clear sky.
Hood-free and tetherless wide wings tackle
ground-to-air steady rise.

Pinned to blind state bejeweled eyes strain
to reconstruct sight.
Leathered in predator fashion claws disdain
gloved hold on natural flight.

Thrown into freedom's space massive eagle
dignifies ascent with style.
Casting off shackles mean pinions can wheel
toward liberty's height.

Unconfined feathers enter each sky-stream
with pure working delight.
Oh to release every caged captive, then see
birds enjoy true birthright.

And aren't they awe inspiring. From infant days our minds wonder at the majesty of flight. To soar, hanging upon the invisible currents, all seeing in the freedom sky, unrestrained.

Give me wings when next this spirit sings to mother earth.

I understand completely the way raptors can enthrall, Fay. Australia has it's wedge tailed eagle - worth a study all its own. A beautiful argument for freedom of flight. Thanks.

    Good write Fay.

Ah, maybe what I thought was a typo in the title is a subtle message... the raptor is unconfined... but you (are) confined! Hood free! Like riding a motorcycle without a helmet?

They are beautiful to watch and a beautiful poem to read Fay.

The majesty of the birds of prey, in every aspect of their flight, so poetically by you, brought to light.

Raptors are majestic birds and the freedom they have is so awe inspiring.

what enticing imagery you have used to share your message dear Fay, indeed - let us all be free, to hit those height's of liberty..
such a comforting read, like that eagle - I too soared, only within your words
