Penny for your thoughts they say
No I say please go away
Why do you not want to share
Because there my thoughts, than I swear
Are they scary are they sad do they make you feel so bad
Please let's talk we can walk maybe it will help your thoughts
Let me give a virtual hug feel the comfort as we talk.
I wish that I could hold your hand and hug you tight I understand
Please keep in touch by phone my friend
Eventually this all will end.

I read your 'authors comment'. It's so important to keep in communication when a loved one is low. Mum's and sons aren't always the easiest of relationships and i know that can be very trying when all mum wants to do is be loving and caring.
Hard though it is, sometimes it can be easier for a male feeling low to talk to someone outside the family scene.
There is help and a listening ear available through the local authority backed 'Here2Help' set up in all areas. Just a thought.
You poem, in conversational style, really brings home the dilemma.
Thankyou and you are so right in your comments it's hard at this moment in lockdown as I cant see him in person and a outside person I know would be so much better at the moment all they are offering is connection over the internet after only one phone call so i think he is finding it hard to communicate that way as it's so faceless.
Not qualified to treat, teach or critique anyone.
Have some experience, however, with depression it can be very challenging.
If it is a chemical imbalance there are meds to correct if not
Dusk is correct get help form people who are having the
same experience you are not alone.
Thankyou, he is on meds thankgod he eventually agreed to take them to help it's a first step.
Totally understand you feelings in these times, not being able to meet with family is so hard on us all.
Andy
