I'm not taking Goldfinch's name in vain here
An eccentric ditty for ya today
Oh no, not that again!
Orchi - are you 21 again? Fido asks
See - a talking dog?!
Then he says '5 times over?'
I say 'Noooo, not yet!'
Though it could be 5,000 times over
Seeing as Goldie and I are very old
Why, we was at The Battle of Hastings in 1066
And even around in dinosaur's days
Man's moon landing in 1969
Was no surprise to us
We was already there
We stepped out from the other side of the moon
To greet them warmly
Saying 'Welcome, earthlings'
Us two are not human of course
(Or 'Speak for yourself' says Gold)
We showed the astronauts a lone tree on the moon
Where we carved our initials
And also 'We Woz Ere'
You'll have to put up with my singing
Though there's no remedy
Things can help though
Such as, You sing loud enough to drown me out
Or ask Fido to howl louder than me
Me singing tutor is happy that it's me birthday
Cos he can charge me for more lessons
Though I've had 874632094 lessons already
Not a shred of difference!
He listens with ear muffs in
And assures me I'm getting better every time
O to be in April
Now that Spring is there
(That's me poetic bit for today
It's the correct version, I believe)
'Happy Birthday, you old dog', they say
Doh! they mean me, not Fido!

Great read.
Thanks Heather.
That's the problem with time travelers, they are all over the place.
I don't think any amount of lessons is going to improve this looney toon, - speaking of myself, of course!!!!!!
Thanks M. lol.
Should you not consider upping the medication just a teensy weensy bit?
But all things considered a splendid run through. Almost lost my own sense of reality by the end.
Thanks Dave. Yes, I have to keep taking the tablets!
A good one orchie, maybe you should deviate from the hymn-poems more often! Not that they are bad, just that this one is more fun.
Thanks Fred.
I though I had told you not to tell anybody about that message we scrawled on the moon, people will go up there an look for it now and bring it back to earth to see how much money they can get for it, we won't see a penny!
So 21 again eh? I remember when you were 21 in 1214 and went to Runnymeade to see the Magna Carta signed, you knocked that ink over and ruined the document so that it had to be re- written, that's why it was signed in 1215!
King Goldie.
Thanks Gold lol. I mucked that up too, as well as 1066. I'm a walking disaster area!
