the sun tomorrow

dusk arising

and tomorrow
the sun may shine
and we shall share
tales of warmth

though beneath
the stars this night
remains the haunted shell
of yesterdays
truth departed

where once
moonlight
bathed your eyes
in radiant amour

Yep, you don't get to our years without learning how life brings change. Thanks Fred. Good to see you writing regularly again.

Here in Texas we have forgotten tales of warmth. I deeply enjoyed this compact little rumination. You invoke so much with so few apt words.

Sometimes fewer words do a better job, not that this is a particularly good example. I expect the sunshine will return to you all soon enough along with a firmer understanding of how climate change comes home.

Ah - - Dusk you have scored yet again with this engaging confession of romantic memories which ever remain - - a special sigh too for your final stanza which oozes with pure poetic imagery.

.. No matter which way one looks at it .. When put like that, your readers face is rearranged into a smile .... smashing DA ..
