God No God

John Prophet

God no God!
Battle rages.
Some say
yes.
Some say
no.
What’s
the point?
Who cares?
No one
has proof,
no proof
whatsoever.
No proof
either way.
“Faith”!
Faith
is a
weasel word.
What’s
said when
there’s no
answers,
no proof.
God, no
God.
Who cares!
Is God
really
about the
here and
now?
Or,
existence
for eternity.
Humanity,
more concerned
about living
forever
 than
dealing with
current
reality,
the world
that’s
occupied
now?
Afterlife?
Who cares?
No one
knows for
sure.
Humanity
has much
work to do
now.
Much work
to make
now a
better place.
A better
place
for all.
Some believe.
Some do not.
No matter.
When it’s
all said
and done,
eternity
will take
care of
the issue,
sorting
things out
once and
for all.
Not giving
a hoot
what was
believed
or not
believed.

Love the Poem John Prophet, as it strikes the stirring of thoughts in me. Don
Maybe. Faith is like Love its about how great a leap 1 wants to take in the belief/(love) they want to embrace. Maybe?

Hope I didn't offend with my original comment John? Just asking as it appears to have been deleted and I had a notification of a reply which is now gone too!

      • John Prophet

Nope not at all. I edited my poem by deleting and redoing. Did not think about losing previous comments

I see. I'm getting used to the site slowly

So is John it would seem. my comment lost (although I received a notification of reply) John, you have a method of mass censorship which beats anything I've experienced at MPS so far.
Believe it or not - my comment was positive.....

when faith systems resort to sales strategy 'witty slogans'..
I pity what the future holds for humanity's moral compass..
I said the same thing, when I first heard that manipulative 'yes we can' - cheerleader's chant, being heralded by conformity's self-deluding: geniuses 12 years ago..
(no I am not commenting on the validity of your chosen faith..
no I am not 'having a go' at you dear poet..
yes my words are often misinterpreted as aggravatingly infuriating: yes, I take full accountability and willingly apologise, sincerely..)
              please feel free to delete,
I too think it was unwise of me to write this comment,
but I also stand by what my message represents for those willing to take a second to contemplate my meaning (but then again why should they)..
and no I'm not a 'lost soul', I'm just expressing an opinion, without vindictive or hurtful intent
