Feeling Poetry.

Goldfinch60

Why do these words come onto this page?

They come from emotions,

The emotions laid out before you.

They may be sad,

They may be happy.

The love you have for others

Is always there,

And maybe hate.

But from where do these words come?

They come from when your mind stops,

Even for a moment.

For in that moment

All you do is feel,

And from those feelings

No thought is required

For poetry to be written,

Written on this page.

You manage to post a meaningful poem each day. That's beyond my ability.
My mind immediately falls to the question do i admire that ability or not? Is it a thing to which I aspire? I can find an answer for neither oddly, so why did the questions arise. Dunno.... call me perculiar. I'm just the kind of part-timer poet who writes when he does, lazy? relaxed? fuzzy minded? self healing? yes yes yes.
Thankful for all the differences of inspiration i see before me on MPS which encourage me to explore other pathways of my mind.

They are only things that come to mind, your poems are also inspiring they say what you feel and that is what, in my opinion, much poetry is about.

As I said in my "About me" on this site "I love writing poetry and write at least one poem a day, some good, some bad, some indifferent but I keep on trying."

I agree that the mind needs to cease for moments in order for words to be poetically arranged on the page - - thanks for the music too in your posting dear Andy

Thank you Fay, as you know those moments are so important in our lives.

Well said, Andy. I too wonder sometimes where these words come from. At least now I know!

I like this poem . I found a book once , about writing but it said to write from your heart and not to think about it too much ... because the mind sometimes gets in the way .

              • Goldfinch60

So very true yellowrose, write from the heart.

Yes , the mind can definitely get in the way . If you are trying to write a poem .,. But overthinking it or worrying about the words you write .., that won’t help . Write what comes to you .. almost be in the flow .,, you could always go back to it and adjust it . Usually I don’t re write a poem ... I just have it the way it is
