Understanding.
Knowledge.
The scale.
Knowledge
scale.
Zero to
infinite.
Knowledge.
Humanities
boat
barely
leaving
the dock.
In relative
terms,
scarcely
farther
along than
a salamander.
Yet humanity
ponders,
asking
“clever questions”.
Questions
on everything.
But, working
in a
narrow band,
lacking
the firepower
to ask
the big
questions.
The important
questions.
Narrow
band of
possibilities.
Self impressed
nonetheless.
Rocking
cradle,
mere
babes
in the
void.
Narrow
band of
capabilities.
Groping
in the
darkness.
Not the
slightest
idea
which way
to turn.
Like a
bug in
a debris
field.

Ethereal write, John.
Thank you kind Sir.
As John Archibald Wheeler said: We live on an island surrounded by a sea of ignorance. As our island of knowledge grows, so does the shore of our ignorance.
Yup, the more we know the more we realize the more we don’t know.
That’s why the youngens are know it alls 😉
So very true John. It relates to something I say regularly - I have been listening to music of all types throughout my life and I know that the more I get to know about music the more ignorant I realise I am bout it.
Andy
So true Andy and in life in general....
Enlightened minds
answering all of life's questions
from one source
a few pages flicked
and then parables repurposed
hastened to ill-fit
as latest answers
to dwindling belief, while
smirking their all-knowing
because their knowledge
is tested on the other side
of existence, how convenient,
so in bleak time's
when world is in despair
instead of comfort and solace
they make those same
mistakes
of demonic fear mongering
fantastical tale's
trying to scare new members
into their dwindling fold,
elitist mindset's displayed proud
scared to question
scared to trust in truth - alone
scared to love anyone
that doesn't share
their blinkered views to faith
scared, scared , scared
but it's all ok
cause their book
has every answer, its
just them that choose
to translate hate and war
from all those words of love
and peace...
nice and witty write dear poet, how judgementally - inspirational, your words read! me, I play things more direct.. lol
