In the Enchanted Forest
spring fell
like a crack-crazed
Roman goddess
careening through
its paths and by-ways.
Blooming camellias
casting their petals
on the ground
leave
technicolor
detritus
painted by
a drunken Van Gough.
Ornamental fruit trees
blossoming
pink and white
like the cheeks
of Norwegian
eight-year-olds
in mid-winter
overdosing
on candy canes.
