Salty River

SunSearcher

The salty river flows

Glistening by the headlights glow

Haunted by memories of the past

Replaying on the radio

Wonder how it could have been

If time would’ve been a friend

Maybe our love would’ve last

Too late to try again

Because the bridge fell apart

The minute you broke my heart

Irreparable damage

Causing a lifetime of baggage

Carry your baggage well lest it become a burden.

That baggage must be released as you move forward into better life.

Well written, SS. Somebody (can't remember who) once said something like: If a man steps into a river the second time the river is not the same and neither is the man. Same with relationships. We can try again but most likely it will not be the same.
