Meant to be here

Birddie Jane

They ask me why I stay

Tell me it's not healthy

I should be independent

But they don't know what I do

I stay

And I endure the pain

Because only I can

My purpose in life

Is to be exactly where I am now

I can't explain it

It's an instinct

As pure as survival

It just makes sense

Through this experience

I have been taught strength

And in return

I gave love

Not everything

Will make sense to everyone

But just because you would leave

Doesn't mean I should

Beautifully said, Birddie! So often we think that giving advise is a good thing. But sometimes it is not! I just recently published the poem "Bad Advise", you might want to have a look at it.
