Ooh Nina....

Doggerel Dave

Notice of absence from Doggerel Dave
Not absent - still here!
Keep Calm and Carry On Poeming. 😂

Now there’s a woman, wild, untamable…

Could I, would I, should I….no you should not –

It is well past your bedtime as it is

If you were to get all bothered and hot

A heart attack would inform you could not..

Never mind she’s fire and brimstone , bless her

Let her keep the fire in your belly warm

But try to keep yourself well out of harm

And anyway it’s certain you would not.

  • Comment from author about the poem: The claim by several poets here that they pop one out in five to ten minutes got me thinking… Well that’s done then… been there. Nina is my favorite jazz singer of the era – I feel guilty I’ve given her so little time….

Very fine jazz singer Dave but I certainly wouldn't go near that fire and brimstone within her.

Certainly I think you are right, Andy. I will desist, let common sense (read physical limitations) prevail.

      I gotta say" Ooh Dave....
No matter how long it took you, this is a good one!

Tell you what Fred, if Pirate Jenny means anything to you, you probably know the Ute Lemper version - there's another woman I could WATCH all night.....

so little time .. but time well spent .. well done sir ..
I must surely go and check out Nina now ..

I can't believe you never have ..... but making that massive assumption I can only advise that while Pirate jenny is stirring, and powerful , she was (occasionally) capable of softer stuff......

This provokes curiosity and curiosity killed the cat. But then satisfaction revived it.
