I am tired of the stigma that comes with something I can't control
I am tired of being looked at weird because
I act different than them
My brain is wired
not like theirs
The red cord is where the blue goes
And the blue... What was I saying again?
Oh the blue cord is where the red goes
I hate coming down
from the high of the medication my doctor
prescribes
I know how normal people
think
I know how they feel
I know how they
see
They dont see it as a jumbled up world of distractions
@×÷%#/£
every second of every day
Not having to think
about how they have to get through life like this
I never knew this was
how people saw the world
I thought this was how everyone lived
Most people don't think about how they see life until you can't see it
clearly
Most people don't think about life until they can't think about it
clearly
I can't focus on something for more than
F

minutes
I am tired of being seen as a *disorder*
Having that
lable
rather than something I put in
=effort=
for and could control
I'm tired

- Comment from author about the poem: Hello everyone! This poem is very close to heart. A couple of days ago I got diagnosed with ADHD. I got on medication and my life has already changed so much. However I have already seen people look at me differently. I guess this poem is about wishing things like this could be normalized. I chose to create this as a representation of a mind with ADHD. Hectic. All the love PL xxx❤

Everybody is different and to label anyone is not right at all, I hope in my long life I have treated EVERYBODY with respect as I do to you Poetry_Lover.
Andy
Thank you Andy! I hope you know you make me smile with your comments!
A creative poem PL.
I'm glad you got it together enough to write this piece. We (that 'normal people' group) need your input to make us aware of ADHD.
I hope to see more from you.
Good luck with those drug treatments too
Well thank you! I will be sure to try and inform more people with my work!
What is 'normal', what is 'right'? Thank you for reminding us to look at others without judgement or preconceived notion.
Thank you! I feel this community as a safe place.
I FEEL this. "why did I come in this room?" greatly expressed
Thank you! I am glad my work speaks to you!
