Tune: Webb/Morning Light

('Stand up, stand up for Jesus')

Philippians 4 v.4-8

*********

Rejoice in the Lord always

Give Him some praise all days

Let your moderation be

Known to all, so the ysee

Your life, that it Christ-controlled

You be sheep in His fold

Awaiting his return, for

The Lord is at hand sure

And be anxious for nothing

But do in everything

By prayer and supplication

With thanksgiving, each one

Of your requests, let them be

Made known to God freely

Thouh He knows all things, do pray

He shall show you His way

And the peace of God, it shall

Keep your hearts and minds well

Through Chrsit Jesus His Son, He

Your comfort, help shall be

His peace, it cannot be all

Understood by us full

And keep minds on things true, right

Honest, just, pure, and bright

And too things that are lovely

What of good report be

And virtuous, praiseworthy

Think, meditate freely

Continue on and progress

The Lord will thus you bless

Not overcome by worry

Nor fear, anxeity

  • Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 7.6.7.6. 7.6.7.6. metre. A rip-roaring tune and hymn, maybe not exactly 'peaceful', yet it seemed to go with these words.

OK orchie, I'll stop worrying. If it doesn't work out, I'll blame it on you.

The world would be a better place if people facing a decision would simply ask "What would Jesus do?" and then act accordingly.
