Tune: Herongate

('It is  thing most wonderful')

Haggai 1 v.13-15 [Old Testament]

***********

Haggai, prophet of the LORD

Spoke to people uplifting word

He spoke as the LORD's messenger

Encouraged them their hearts to stir

His message was, 'I am with you

Says the LORD', it a saying true

Will not forsake, help you rebuild

My Temple, shall be glory-filled

Then Zerubbabel, governor

Of Judah, he did reassure

With Joshua too, the high priest

Inspired people, from great to least

They came to house of God repair

For it had lain in ruins there

After return from exile they

Progressed, got the work under way

It be house of the LORD God there

With them His dwelling He did share

Focal point of the worship, they

Courageous rebuilt in their day

A house of the Lord built for the glory of God, repaired by his servants on Earth. A lovely story, expressed in your words which capture the courage needed. -Phil A.
