Tune: Moscow

('Thou whose almighty word')

Psalm 98

*******

Sing the LORD a new song

Make praises day, night long

With joyful throng

He has done marvellous

Things, gained victory for us

By His holy arm, hand

Throughout each land

The LORD He has made known

His salvation, it shown

Flows from His throne

His righteousness revealed

To nations, not concealed

Open for all to see

He great God be

He has remembered His

Mercy and truth, sure this

To Israel, bliss

All ends of earth have seen

Salvation of God keen

Shown to Jews and Gentiles

He reconciles

Make joyful noise unto

The LORD, praises anew

His glories view

All the earth, make loud noise

Break forth into songs, joys

Bring psalms and instruments

His presence sense

Make joyful noise before

The LORD, the King, e'ermore

To farthest shore

Let creation join in

Seas roar, and waves begin

Floods clap hand, hills rejoice

All as one voice

Joy together before

The LORD, He comes fo sure

For from His store

He shall with righteousness

Judge the world, shll not miss

The people judged shall be

With equity

  • Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 6.6.4. 6.6.6.4. metre. With 7-line verses, I have chosen rhyme of AAABBCC. The original hymn is AABCCCB. This sounds like alphabet bingo!
