Tomodachi ya Koibito

Neville

Tomodachi ya Koibito

She called him a god

He said

I am me …

But we are so much

More than

Just friends though

Surely …

She enquired

As she

Wiped and he smiled

Yes of course

He replied and soon

You shall be

Much more than

A collection of sighs

Delightful locations

And a safe

Harbour to sail in …

And since

You are destined

To become poetry

We shall

Always and inevitably

Be true

Tomodachi ya koibito ..

Love's reproduction brought to our eyes by such poetic wording that only your pen can achieve my friend. An intriguing peep into tender togetherness in this first of my morning's read..............x

OK Neville. Felt fine and in many ways familiar, understood and good luck to you both.
But (and someone has to ask directly) wot about that last bleeding line??

          • Neville

.. Something must be seriously amiss DD and I dont mean the lass I refer to here .. she is sadly no more but is seriously missed and was seriously married .. that last bleeding line, since you ask can be seriously Googled .............. N

            • Doggerel Dave

Amiss? Agreed: Sorry Neville - I tried...I don't make frivolous queries. I got "Did you mean: Tomodachi no Koibito" with all subsequent entries utilising the phrase with a 'no' in what presumably is or could be Japanese....
Beginning to wonder if I should not have just passed on by contained in my bubble of ignorance.... 🙂

              Good write, Neville.
Along that red-dirt road in my mind all my lovers are dear friends of mine.

              • Neville

and long may that defining red dirt road continue .. it seems we are both very lucky individuals Jerry ..

What better way to honor someone than in poetry. Be she friend/lover/both, you have immortalized her in your own way. A poem of remembrance to keep a link open to the original relationship. Your own emotions on paper. Well done, - Phil A.

'tokyo no sora' by kazumasa oda
no worthier lyrics in-reply to your words can ever exist, in my humble opinion

Oh beat this heart of mine- if a man said “ you are a collection of sighs”

Oh beat this heart of mine
                    Hear my heartfelt sighs
When a man loves a woman
There’s a glow in his eyes

Oh beat this heart of mine
                    There’s poetry in his soul
                    With every word he whispers
                    Serenity softly flows

                    • Neville

thank you kindly and thank you true .. am sending these thanks from here and me to there and you .... 🙂

I tried to look up Tomodachi ya Koibito, but didn’t get far.
Though, I must say, I throughly enjoyed the poem.
