Poem, Men need to Change.

AwHec8

Life pounds.

It surrounds.

Injustice abounds.

It expounds.

Relief is not found.

As it mounds.

It confounds.

Are we men only hounds?

What gives men & police the grounds?

As women, make their rounds.

To upend their lives as they move around.

The towns.

Men everywhere must Quit!

All of this Shit!

Topical - good issue based nugget; I could read it, understood it, liked it, Don.
Now for the rest of your 'rant' in chewable bits... 🙂

Thank You Doggerel Dave. Yes sometimes I can calm down enough to get out a coherent thought in the form of a Poem. Don

So true Don, why cannot all men behave respectfully to women and all other people on this earth?

Thank You Goldfinch60 it is nice when another person gets the thought put out. Even if it is only 1 or a few. Don

          agree completely!
          but please, dear insightful poet
let us not label 'all men' in one uniformed reactionary breath..
'you see, its some of those same 'men' that took part in the hunt to catch that 'animal'..
just like its only one batch that's' recalled when factory lines find faults..
let us not paint 'all men' with that one tarnished brush,
you think I missed your point maybe? possibly, but
if you are not aware of the general disillusionment that's suffocating generations of young adult men, maybe you'll understand my reason for citing 'qualifier's in language' however toxic and triggering the topic,
when you understand that more 'young adult male's' successfully commit suicide, worldwide - far more!
so society's go-to blaming of 'all men' is fast producing unsavoury results:
that no one wants to discuss
and what do you perceive will be the end result
when all the young and sensitive men, die-out from our society's gene pool, who will be left
to write empathetic poems like yours, then? maybe I'm being dramatic, still
I'm just saying let us look at 'trending' issues with a landscape lens, and be tempered in forming our reactionary perspective's

            L. B. Mek you are right with your thoughts thrown into this conversation. At least for me. Don

Here is my main point its those of us who are not standing up when this happens to women everywhere for 1 reason or another because we are afraid to confront this issue head on. Even though I have at times stood up to men on the side of righteousness it always has its own peril for those who do take a stand. And I am not perfect either because it takes great wisdom & extreme courage or extreme stupidity to make a stand at the right time in the right way.

Example when a group of men catcall or a couple is having a fight and the man gets violent. Who wants to intercede especially if you are alone? Who would know how to be a voice of calm in the storm?
Yet that is when it counts the most, not as much in the afterman when the woman is dead or injured and the crowd comes around to now form a stand in overwhelming unity.
And no 1 of us is perfection in living our lives, especially me. As I have failed more times than I care to think about. Yet its a live & learn, grow & grow up, Love & be Loved way I am striving for too.

              yeah nice sentiment's,
just that whole 'all men' is at fault rhetoric needs updating: before its too late...

Oh and for those of you who don't know my way of thought. Here it is,
I am not a "good person" for as long as I can remember I have thought this way. Then upon seeing the Biblical Narrative say this,
Mark 10:17-22 17As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. "Good teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?" 18"Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good-except God alone.
Right there Yeshua is saying, at that point in time, even He was not a "good person"
