One Day More.

Goldfinch60

One day more without her,

Each new day she is in my mind,

I know she is looking down on me

And her Spirit is with me.

One day more when music reminds me,

Reminds me of those times

When we sang and played together,

The music that was part of our lives.

One day more where my love remains,

Remains with the wonder of my life,

That wonderful lady full of joy

The joy that she brought to us all.

One day more getting closer,

Closer to that time together again

Where our Spirits become one,

And we go on together forever.

One day more towards eternity,

Never parted.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I was playing Les Miserables as I was driving and this song came on and brought such emotion to me that I had to write some words as the song brought Joyce back to me, we saw the show live in London and it was such a wonderful show and brought tears to our eyes and the rest of the audience. Joyce and I even sang parts of it in the Choir which we belonged to.

      'One day more without her,'..
      but also, dear friend
one day more of her memory
      filling-up all the empty holes
      in life's horizons
so this one day more, however painful
is yet another gift she's bestowed upon your life
that some other's will never get to experience..

      • Goldfinch60

Thank you Mek, she is always with me.
