It’s hard,
Going through life,
Smiling through the struggles,
Shrugging off the pain,
When you're upset having to hideaway,
Because no one can see you cry.
They’ll think you're weak;
So you just get through each day,
Being happy for those around you,
And when people are rude to you,
You just smile and apologize,
Even if it’s not your fault,
You’ll always apologize.
You wanna know why you’ll always apologize;
Because the one thing in life you always wanted
Was an apology.
From those who hurt you,
Forced you to become “strong” when you should’ve been able to live,
And your scared to make people feel like you do,
So you apologize to everyone even when they hurt you.

personally dear poet
I, choose to apologise freely, not because I require an apology in return,
but because:
I never want to be that person who knows they can solve all with an apology, but fear
how much of themselves they'll surrender in acknowledging the mere fact
that they too: are fallible and prone to making mistakes..
for I know!
my legacy shall never be my mistakes, but the lessons they have taught me
and the better person I strive to cultivate of myself,
for ultimately: that is our purpose in life..
