Tune: Lasst Uns Erfreuen

('All creatures of our God and King')

Psalm 104 v.16-24

********

The trees of the LORD they are full

Of sap, and thrive productive all

Alleluia, Alleluia!

The great cedars of Lebanon

Majestic appear every one

Great works in Nature God has done

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

In these trees birds do make their nests

Storks make fir trees their house, there rest

Alleluia, Alleluia!

The high hills are a refuge for

The wild goats and the conies* sure

They rock-badgers, there lay their store

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

The LORD appoints moon for seasons

And the sun through life's rhymes, reasons

Alleluia, Alleluia!

They know their going down, rising

Each nigh, day they faithfully bring

Let us ot the Creator sing

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

He makes darkness, and it is night

In the forests beasts use their sight

Alleluia, Alleluia!

They creep forth, the young lions roar

And they seek their meet from God for

Without His providing they poor

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

The sun arises, they gather

Themselves together in shelter

Alleluia, Alleluia!

They lay down in their dens, then see

Man goes forth to his labour, he

Works until evening's rest time be

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

O LORD, your works how manifold

Are they, and of them too is told

Alleluia, Alleluia!

That in wisdom you all them made

Earth full of your riches displayed

For your pleasure, glory arrayed

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
