Have you ever

Thelala

Have you ever had so much to say,
That your mouth that clamped up so tight,
Was suddenly so dry,

That your mind that was still whirling,
Making you feel so sick,
Went blank,

Have you ever had so many thoughts,
Swimming around your head at an impossible rate,
That you just wanted to scream and scream,
Until your lungs gave out,

That your thoughts that are so dark,
Are repulsive and frightening,
That you don't recognize them as your own,
That they terrifie you so much,
You don't dare tell a soul,
For the fear it will make them real,

Have you ever felt so broken,
Even though you felt fine a while ago,
That you can't do anything,
You can't cope with all the strain,
That you feel there is something wrong,
With everything inside your brain,

Have you ever just want everything to stop,
For everything you are to be numb,
But even the thought of that,
Seems to scare you,

Have you ever been so angry,
That you want to scream at the top of your lungs,
To punch and kick,
To beat Anything and everything,
But you also feel so weak,
That you can't even muster a whisper,
That the only thing you could beat is yourself,

Have you ever hurt so much,
That every part of your mind and body,
Feels as though it is locked in a vice,
And someone is tightening it,
It gets tighter and tighter,
Harder and harder to breathe,
You look to see who is doing,
But all you see is you.

Have you ever felt like this?

Suggest professional intervention - you don't sound very happy.

    • Thelala

hello thank you for your concern but this is an old poem i wrote during a bad time, I am now much better and happier just thought I would share some of my poems on here to help me let go of that time.

Glad that you are in a more comfortable space - if you are better and happier, then wouldn't it be better to forget those times and look forward rather than back?

      • L. B. Mek

yes, we all have - admittedly, not simultaneously
but I promise you're not experiencing anything drastically different
than what the rest of humankind, has evolved
to survive and fight against: daily...
