Dear Mum

Thelala

Dear mum I don't know what made you want to be a mum,
Whether it be your big heart,
Or your kind nature,
But I am so glad you decided to be one,
That you decided to give up holidays,
And lie in's,
That you decided to become a mum.

But what is a mum,
Is it that mum's are the weaners, the mushers and baby teeth brushes? ,
Or as we get a bit older a peeler, a cooker and an appointment booker?
Or is it that they are list compilers or a proud parent smiler?,
Is this what makes a mum?,

This is part of what makes a mum,
But i know that it is much more than that,
It's your kind and selfless acts that astound me,
That I can feel your love that will forever surround me,
That no matter what I do,
Good or bad,
Happy or sad,
You support me,
You always come through.

That is part of what makes a mum,
But you are so much more special than all the rest,
I want you to know that you are the best,
So, I am writing this to say,
Thank you for all the times I forget,
For all the special things you do,
For all the words that sometimes go unspoken,
I need to say,
I love you mum,
I'm each and every way,
And more and more every day
