Liam Power

Beer in the cafetière
And homemade pad-thai
(if you can call this a home)
Made by friends who care

About different things
And each other
Which seem impossible
To fit together

wonderful, depicting the wonder of finding a few amiable strangers to share that place you come back to at the end of a day,
indeed we're not all so lucky as with most thing there is a nightmare opposite to this as well,
still, to have the awareness to recognise and appreciate what you've been gifted: in the now, than retrospections belated - cloudy mirror, is a fit of grounded maturity and budding wisdom, in my humble opinion..
a great write, thanks for sharing

Keep friends as family as much as possible. Your poem is proof - if they care about you, you care about them and that is everthing!
