Such is life at times....
We/I can't always have what I want all the time
But we shall have what we need
Things may or may not turn out how I would like them to
Or may or may not happen when I would like them to
Sometime we may have to do some things in life
Sometimes we are able to choose - Yes or No
There's a sort of comfort
Being happy to do without some things
That we didn't like when they were happening
(Not necessarily only relating to covid)
Then when they start again, we may say
'Oh not that again; I'm back at square one'
Yet it can be an apathy, a 'cosy comfort'
Which is not good really to stay in
Not to rely entirely on feelings though
They may or may not be of help
There may be a false comfort
'This too will pass'
Yes, it may pass
But we may be in a fantasy
'Glad that nasty old thing has passed'
Or for now - it might not always go away
But have I learnt anything from it?
Did I learn anything from it, if it's passed now?
Did I grow in any way through it?
'Rewards' of looking forward to something
Maybe later the same day, or the same week
Or giving ourselves some treat
After some ordeal, or unpleasant experience
I'll join ya for a treat later
I'll buy ya a drink
A wine or sherry or three....
But I'll add water to it of course
And ya can meet Fido too
Just don't recite any 18+ poems in his presence
Or he turns very fierce!
'Bleeeuurrghhh!' you say. Water in wine!
Is that a bit of French?!

There is a comfort in your poem also.
Thanks Trenz.
Sometime in our lives there are bad or sad times but what we need to remember is that we are still here and the goodness in life will be there in front of us.
Don't you dare put any water in my wine!! I have been telling you this since 5000 BC when I made that first batch of wine.
Andy
