It’s happened again
The tears come to my eyes.
The music plays
And an image comes to me,
The slow beat of the song
Makes me want to dance,
Remembering the dancing
With my lover in my arms
As we sway together dancing,
Dancing in harmony,
Our love radiating from our hearts
Into the room around us.
That love has grown since she passed
But some memories from music
Bring her back into my arms,
While the tears fall down my cheeks.
Why does music do this to me?

A poignant write Gold.
Music pulling at the heart-strings, recalling happy memories.
Happy, except if I sing along to the music. heehee. Hope I don't turn up to sing!
Thank you Orchi.
Iām glad you have nice memories š everyone needs them . Difficult to miss someone you loved . A nice writing tho )
Thank you yellow rose, I have some great memories, especially of Joyce and I and our wonderful time together over so many years.

To see truly good young singing talent on TV has a similar effect on me Andy. Dunno why, it cuts to memories of my young singing days and total lack of self confidence even though i was fronting a band. I guess theres something just cuts through the bullshit of everyday and connects with an inner longing.
So very true d a, it is surprising how music has this effect on that 'inner longing'.

May those memories never leave you Andy. I'm sure Joyce is smiling with happy tears that you wrote this in memory of her.
Thank you AP, I am sure that she is.

'The slow beat of the song
Makes me want to dance,
Remembering the dancing
With my lover in my arms
As we sway together'..
as we sway, you say - in the now of remembered serenity
and may it always, always remain this way
for you and your beloved: too..
wonderful use of repetition Andy
