Peter at Pentecost
Said, Look, all is not lost
Jesus, a man appeared
Of God, among us moved
Did miracles, wonders, and signs
God did by Him in works divine
Jesus was delivered
Though it was there assured
Determined by counsel
And foreknown by God all
They had taken Him, crucified
Yet was for their sakes that He died
God has now Him upraised
He worthy to be praised
Loosed, destroyed pains of death
The Spirit His life-breath
Because it was not possible
That death should hold Him in its thrall
David did prophesy
In centuries gone by
That he saw the Lord e'er
Departing from him ne'er
And that He true would rise again
Saviour of women, children, men
