Victory Voicings

Tune: St Clement

('The day thou gavest, Lord, is ended')

1 Corinthians 15 v.51-57

**********

Behold, a mystery to us shown

A hidden truth shall be made known

We shall no all sleep in death, but shall

All be changed, we may know it well

In a moment, in twinkling of eye

It shall no linger by and by

For at the last trumpet, it shall sound

The dead shall be raised, so be found

And we shall be changed in that instant

Hope of repentant, penitent

For this corruptible must put on

Its new state of incorruption

And this mortal, it must put on, see

Its life of immortality

Then shall be brought to pass the saying

Truth of it shall to all things ring

Death is swallowed up in victory

O death, where your sting, where it be?

O grave, where is your victory? We

Overcome through Christ, bold and free

The sting of deah is sin, and strength so

Of sin, it is the law, we know

But thanks to God, us victory gives

Through His Son Jesus, so each lives

Again Orchi you show me the similarities of our separate beliefs here.

Soooo - you believes really?! I don't mean believe in all the religious guff that floats around!

      • dusk arising

Sure I believe that there is a power above us all and above our understanding. But i don't believe all the bible stuff which was OK for the uneducated peoples of the world when they believed in fairy tales, monsters and the world was flat. Blind faith in fairy stories is something i don't have.

My disagreements are with the R.C. Church mainly.
