ghosts

dusk arising

Ghosts are real
in their footsteps
along the landing
ethereal whisps
form a translucence
of a figure watching you,
seeing all.
Depriving you
of sleep's comfort
and restlessness
beckons you 'follow'
along a hallway never seen
to a door of neverness.
Stirring the chill of fear
into your bones
compelling eyes
take your mind.
Other's hands cold caress
as you pass beyond
self control into
a madness
of acceptance
willing, willing
you give of your soul
and SCREAM!
To nothing,
finding yourself
shivering cold
alone in the darkness
of the bedroom
they always kept
locked from you.

Good write, Dusk. I do believe in ghosts.

Me too, I think my present home has a spirit but in 12 years it has has not harmed me. Thanks for leaving a comment Jerry.

      A fine write dusk.
I thought it was about me singing to ya at night, with the screaming and shivering, when I read through it! lol.

I have tried to write about your singing effect upon a poets ears in the piece entitled "The screaming ab-dabbs" but it's too frightening and i can't find a suitable YouTube video.

Oooooh - scary those sprites my poetic friend - - shall look more carefully around my solo home walls after perusing this warning.

Don't be in fear of a ghost in your home. Often I hear sounds which are inexplicable in my home and I wonder about a ghost/spirit presence. I am quite comfortable with the thought for that spirit will have seen me doing and being everything that I am and, if it were menacing, would surely have done me harm by now, which it has'nt.

........... jeez .. now I'm gonna have nightmares and probably for the rest of the year ...

there is something about this poem/post that takes me back to my early childhood ... ...

and to certain events that I would rather forget ..

that's the mark of a well writ bit o writing for sure ...

The only ghosts which scared the willys out of me were the ones my older brother created to play tricks on mr in the dead of night when I was a very young child.

Good words d a. There is certainly some form of spirit that we can be aware of, too many inexplicable things have happened in my life for me not to believe in ghosts.

I am quite at ease with the possibility that a ghost spirit is sometimes present in my home. After twelve or more years here it has so far done me no harm.

forgive me Dusk, I'm in such a silly frame of mind this morning, all I could think after reading your deeply insightful words:
'this, is exactly when we call
              for Ghostbusters!
de, da , dedum, de da dedum
              who we gona call!' lol

No need to 'bust. the ghost who resides in my home for it has done me no harm as yet. Thanks for reminding me of the film ghostbusters.... the original.... i loved it for it's powerful theme song which i always wanted to perform in my days as an active musician.... never had the opportunity even though i suggested it for halloween occasions regularly.
