So it happens at last,
After all these years
Where politicians
Have told us supposedly
The truth we should know,
They tell the truth at last.
There is going to be a meeting
Of many politicians
From around the world,
The meeting in the Whitehouse,
Being set as a virtual event,
So if it is virtual,
Will it really exist!

- Comment from author about the poem: The news goes on about this world leader's meeting about climate change being held as a virtual event as they cannot gather face to face, so it it is a virtual event is it real or will it be denied.

A fine write Gold.
Thanks Orchi.
The virtue of such an arrangement will be that virtually nothing will be agreed upon and what little is will be virtually ignored in practice, although the pollies involved will make a virtue of their virtual participation.
I virtually agree with virtually all your virtual words Dave.
Virtually Andy.
When did a meeting of many 'leaders' ever amount to a true meeting of minds anyway. For each has their agenda. They will not be confronted with anything they do not already know. Their well rehearsed rhetoric will be aired and little change will take place.
Once again it is a political move so that one man can appear to have tried to be a messiah, the saviour of our world talking over the heads of those who do not have the longevity of their peoples interest at heart.
A very thought provoking piece today Andy and of such great importance to all life on our home... this planet Earth.
There now exists a time when being right or righteous is far from any use and appears to fail the future of everything.
Very true da, will we ever know the truth!

I like the play on words Andy,
although your words cut a little too close to the bone, for me to nod and smile along
'see, this cesspool virtual reality: we title society
politicises every aspect of existence
to the extent, we're taking nature walks
with VR goggles plastered to our eyes
while exclaiming wonder
at this pixelated fields of polarising lies
we seldom realise
is poisoning: our very understanding of freedom...'
Thank you Mek, very true.

World leaders, I'm reminded of many years ago how young boys would build a fort and all be part of a club. Only today's club have no clue of the real issues that our world faces. Great write and song video Andy.
So true AP, I can remember building forts with my childhood friends.
