Hypnotic

Fay Slimm.

Hypnotic.

Oh silvery snake, the day
I stroked your
quivering throat, felt the
strong pulsing
of dry muscular shivers,
hung your long
weight round my shaking
young shoulders,
as I stood while the carer
draped my head
with your slithering mass
and as ears then
heard whispers of hissing

I felt the hypnotic

of first reptile experience.

I recall the primitive aura
gilding your skin,
that glint in cold eye yet
warmth of coat,
the closeness we shared
in those few
awesome moments 'tho
I, as you quietly
wriggled free, breathing
normal once more,

knew instant beguile

from your sinuous beauty.

To have actual contact with a snake is quite amazing, the feel quite different to the expectation. You have covered the experience nicely I feel, Fay.
(PS -Your sugary love poem seems to have gone missing; intentional?)

    I have a fondness for snakes n reptiles ..

must ashamedly admit as a child long ago, I used to catch dozens and sell them to a local pet shop ..

lizards n slow worms too ...

sorry, but this is one write I can't relate with, in terms of subject
but still, I was immersed in those intricate details you highlighted to bring your words to life
a thrilling read, dear Fay (for me at least)
