That Journey.

Goldfinch60

We travel through our lives,

Each step we take shows us more,

Shows us more that we achieve,

Achieve in our lives.

When we look back we can see,

Can see that,

Can see that the journey,

The journey we have taken

Is important,

Just as important

As the destination.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Our passed is so wonderful. As for the tune when I was in a swing band my friend and I used to play this tune on our trumpets while we were warming up.

    Good write Gold.
A pity folk take steps backwards when they hear my singing. It has that effect on them. They stand back 50 yards! lol.
One church had a 'dance' - two steps forward, one step back. I didn't know if I was coming or going!

      Thanks Orchi.
The dance |I did in church was one step forward and two steps back.

Much more important than the destination is the journey - once I've arrived I've got nothing to strive for..... but I have to tell you, at this point I don't mind so very much - happy to enjoy the little things and not strive so hard.
We are both in very close to the same position, I think. Thanks for the reminder, Andy.

Very true Dave, we are getting there and all is wonderful.

can't word any comment more sincere than doggerel dave has already above,
but I'll still thank you for reminding us this nugget of timeless truth, my wise friend
