A Fieldtrip to Heaven

daydreaming

I hear my alarm going on and on
I just hit snooze to make it stop
It’s still too early to get up
This damn hangover won’t let go.

I hear the sound of garbage trucks
It sounds like thunder when dumpsters roll
The smell of waste is quite strong
This may be Hell, you never know.

I open the door and stepped outside
I can’t smell the roses. Who'd ever say that?
Is a mess out here, but I guess it depends
On how much I care by the end of the day.

I hear cars drive while people talk
Conversations censored, that’s all I know
Trains and buses move faster than fast
My brain is too slow, I can’t keep up with that.

Why not transform a meaningless day
into something fantastic, I owe it to me
The sky is the limit if you know what I mean
Let's shoot really big. I’ll take you with me.

Our journey starts right here, right now
We must do this together, you must understand
I feel too fragile, worn-out at times
You must take my place if it comes to that.

Let’s open a portal with a beam of light
Coming down from Heaven, stairs to the sky
It will shine on the spots where we currently stand
The Laws of Nature will no longer apply.

We got sucked in, it happened so fast
I think we crossed over, yet we're still alive
We will know the truth, I assure you this time
We are telling the others, there’s no reason to lie.

All of Creation appeared before our eyes
Energy becomes matter, what a violent past!
There's is motion and chaos everywhere all at once
But somehow it makes sense, I now understand.

The farther we go, the earlier it gets
Back to the beginning, there’s no time to reflect
We are going for knowledge if there is such a thing
And see where it takes us, you’re excited I see!

We go through the pages of our known Universe
We were so wrong, how could this be?
It was all so simple, why couldn’t anyone see?
That the glory is in "us", not some other being!

Life is inevitable, it was all meant to be
We are not an accident, there’s is a reason we are here
What the Cosmos has done, it did it for us
Becoming self-aware was the ultimate goal.

What we think of God, it was “us” all along
Why demonize us? We can be both!
There is no need to give the Almighty a pass
Because in doing so, we deny who we are.

Yet there is a God with unlimited power
She is the machine that makes it all possible
She is the framework in which everything works
She carries the soil in which everything grows.

It is simply not God’s ultimate job
To interfere in our history or not let us fall
I think She has done quite a marvelous job
In keeping with entropy, She keeps holding the fort.

We’ll tell the “Secret” to every human alive
That has been wondering since the beginning of time
That God works for us, She is on our side
So let’s act like it, be responsible for once.

As you and I return to our mundane lives
Who can act normally after seeing all that?
There's an appreciation for how far we’ve come
I love myself more than you’ll ever know.

It may well be a fantasy Ed, but in our lives we have moved a long way into the light and the reality is as good as the fantasy.

Very well said Andy. If reality is what our brain concludes after it fees from our senses, then who is to that fan fantasies are not real. I am one of those who believe that humans construct the Universe and that the moment the human mind is no longer present, everything will vanish.

I couldn't help relate your words to the philosophy of Baruch Spinoza's
distilled interpretation of (A/The - God/Nature), to quote:
*Spinoza meant God was Natura naturans not Natura naturata, that is, "a dynamic nature in action, growing and changing, not a passive or static thing."..
      such an intriguing read!
      well defined and thought-out arguments
for justifying your chosen belief system

Very interesting. I believe that the concept and the reality of God are so HUGE, that it is impossible for me to grasp who or what he is. If God is as big and complex as the Universe, I am a grain of sand incapable of grasping all that He or She is. But at the same time, my human mind is what constructs everything that is. Therefore, God must be outside the Universe's realm. And now I understand the importance of the Incarnation: God becomes human to break that barrier.
