Tune: Penlan

('In heavenly love abiding')

2 Corinthians 9 v.8-15

**********

Paul says, God is able to

Make all grace unto you

To abound, that you always

All sufficient all days

Do have in all things, and so

Abound in each work do

Your goodness in your giving

Love, part of your sharing

As is written, as are you

These Scriptures noted true

That you have dispersed abroad

Graciously through your Lord

You have given to the poor

Helped them through troubles sore

Your righteousness now remains

Ever, no selfish stains

Now He that gives seed unto

Sower, supply to you

Bread for your food, multiply

Your seed sown by and by

And increase the fruits of your

Righteousness evermore

Thus you are blessed in giving

To help needy living

You enriched in everything

To all bounty, we bring

Thanks to God for your service

You liberal in this

For it supplies needs of poor

And abounds oo for sure

As many thanks are offered

To God for gifts assured

While they who do your service

Experience, see this

They glorify God for your

Professed subjection sure

Unto the gospel of Christ

Your gifts have them sufficed

Thanks too for your free sharing

With all whom help you bring

As so their prayer is for you

And gratefulness they do

Express, they appreciate

Your loving, caring state

Recognise the exceeding

Grace of God in you, sing

Praise for gift unspeakable

You obey service-call

Unfortunately, a friend has got into a haggle with a church, over their money matters. Can ya spare anything towards the cool £1 million needed (what again?). All contributions greatly received. i will pass them on (will I? lol),Sorry I can't help, but I gotta support Branson - you know!

It don't seem much if you say it quick - million. There, I've said it!

I get a lot of pleasure from the act of giving ... but, it has to be on my terms .. here we have an interesting take on an almost exclusively human act ... N 🙂

Thanks N. It's a bit much when 'they' (whoever they are) decide there will be building work, redevelopment, etc, and then say 'Cough up, congregation!'
St Paul is fair here, more so than some others. I hate it when a second 'hat' comes round in the same Service. It happens!

Good luck on the million. Enjoyed the read. Orchi and the calming music.

Thanks Gold. Yep, Branson says wonderful too, when he receives our contributions to keep up his paradise island. You kept up donations to him too?! It would be laughable apart from the greed.
