Rough Neighborhood

H.R.Powell

The playground is empty

It's busted up

People don't play there

They shoot up

Can't walk down the block

With my skirt on

Get groped or harassed

like I want some

At least rent is low

but my roof leaks

And my best friend's house got robbed

Last week

This shit is exhausting

Can't go home

I live in a suburban

Warzone

I thought Honolulu was all palm trees, beaches and houla......I'm truly sorry .
Your situation , clearly and succinctly told is horrendous.
Get out as early as you can.

Such a strong write HR, I do wish that respect and love for all would come to our world.

stylistically paced and worded social commentary
executed really well, a good read
