Tune: Lasst Uns Erfreuen
('All creatures of our God and King')
* Local(ish) stream and river
************
Saint Patrick's stream* , your waters gleam
Reflecting of the sun's bright beam
Alleluia, Alleluia!
And River Thames*, here flowing by
Your peaceful waters they are nigh
Drink Water of Life and ne'er die
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
Farmlands surround, you cows and sheep
Farmers them diligently keep
Alleluia, Alleluia!
Geese come to join, fly down from sky
Or travel from water-side nigh
Resting in green pastures you lie
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
On through permitted paths we tread
Following signposts we are led
Alleluia, Alleluia!
Not to trespass on private ground
For there no ramblers should be found
Nor the tread of runners feet sound
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
O'er open countryside we roam
Till making our way back to home
Alleluia, Alleluia!
If haply we enjoy bright days
As we progress along our ways
God has made us, creation says
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
You crows, magpies, swans, birds many
Fields for you where you may come, see
Alleluia, Alleluia!
Or perching on telegraph wires
Your flight wish for freedom inspires
In us, in our human desires
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
Stop for moments, see hill and dale
Gather memory of country tale
Alleluia, Alleluia!
Back to town, roads we may need go
Everyday life makes it so
Yet times of leisure we too know
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.8.8.8.8. metre with Alleluias - 'only' 30 of them in this poem! A ramble where a stream joins a river. Part of the 'permitted path' is through a field. Cows and bulls may or may not be grazing there. It's a short open stretch, not fenced off. Journey at your own risk.

Alleluia, Alleluia! ; )
Thanks AP.
Good one, Orchi.
Thanks Jerry.
Alleluia indeed Orchi.
Thanks Gold. There's more than 30 of 'em now, with the ones in the comments added in.
Alleluia .. this may well be spiritual .. but like Robert Plant said or rather sang .. Ramble on ............ I think this must be one of ya best Orchidee ...
... Neville
Thanks Neville. A ramble or a waffle?!
Good write Orchi. - - like all those Alleluias
Thanks Fay. A hymn with same tune has SEVEN Alleluias each verse. Someone got annoyed because they felt it was too repetitive. But then it dismantles the whole hymn if we leave them out.
I can't stand endless 'choruses', though Taize songs are good.
