My Friend

Andy Hunter

My friend, you always made me smile.
You made life feel worthwhile.
You never asked for reasons.

We shared our laughter through the years.
Our troubles, doubts and fears.
You took the time to listen.

I know you don’t possess a lot.
But you’d share all you’ve got.
Coz that's just the way you are.

Laughter and happy times.
These thoughts stay in my mind.
One day I’ll see you again.

Memories of years gone by.
Friendship will never die.
Inside your spirit remains.

Fun, good times they come and go.
Guess we already know.
How fate decides the future.

Somehow I guess that things were wrong.
I can't believe you've gone.
I'm really going to miss you.

If time stood still for just one day.
And I could have my say.
I would like to say goodbye.
My friend.

      Very true Andy
This one was personal and not the usual poem I would post, so I appreciate your feedback.
